James has over 8 years’ experience in the financial and technology industries. He began his career at Morgan Stanley, working for the firm in both London and New York. In his role he advised Fortune 500 companies across of range of industries and executed capital markets transactions. In 2011 he helped establish Morgan Stanley’s “Private Capital Markets” group, which specializes in raising equity and equity-linked capital for private companies in the technology, consumer retail, and healthcare services sectors. Prior to cofounding Pillo, James was VP Partnerships and a board member of InSITE, a competitive fellowship program focused on strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in New York City. The program brings together a select group of graduate students from several leading graduate programs, highly promising New York start-ups, and leading venture capitalists. James completed his MBA at Columbia Business School, where he focused on Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital Investing. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Brown University.
