As Vice President for Innovation and Transformation, Blix provides leadership for population health management strategies in the Care Coordination Institute (“CCI”), part of the parent company of South Carolina-based Greenville Health System and Palmetto Health. He works with health systems and clinically integrated networks to identify, implement and evaluate innovative approaches to care delivery through technology. He also provides financial and administrative leadership for CCI. Blix has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining CCI, he worked at Greenville Health System for 12 years in a variety of leadership roles. During that time, he drove the growth of its employed physician group through practice acquisitions and led the departments of medicine, radiology, ob-gyn and pediatrics. He provided administrative leadership in the development of clinical integration and propelled its growing use of digital health. He facilitated the creation of MyHealth First Network, a clinically integrated network consisting of over 2,200 providers spanning 11 counties within South Carolina. Most recently, he oversaw the launch of the Care Coordination Institute within Greenville Health System and its subsequent migration into its parent company where it provides care model development, care management, data analytics and advisory services to clinically integrated networks and integrated delivery systems. Blix spent nine years with Ernst & Young LLP, where he led the delivery of physician-hospital integration, strategy and finance advisory services to integrated delivery systems throughout the country. He also served as State Controller for the South Carolina operations of US Oncology for three years where he had responsibility for all non-clinical operations. Blix holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Carolina University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.
